H -e -l -l -o my great and lovely friends. The WORD of God, the Bible, is on my mind this morning. I wonder what the Bible is to you? I am aware many people, including Christians, are avoiding, ignoring and hiding their Bibles in these last days. Some are even professional critics on anything Bible. I don’t know about you but I truly love the Bible. In a simple lay man’s language, I love the Bible because:
1. It is God’s Word to me (I don’t know about you). It is God’s divine Manual and special Gift to all men and women, young and old, strong and weak, rich and poor. It is God’s weapon for overcoming ignorance. By it we know God and know the origin, purpose and future of men and women. Please READ it.
2. The Bible is God’s instrument against fear, the devil, destruction, defeat, depression, demonisation, etc. Please STUDY it.
3. The Bible is the medicine to all kinds of diseases and sicknesses, especially the sicknesses and diseases of human soul. Please MEMORISE it.
4. The Bible is my light, it shines brighter than the sun; and it is my vision. Please MEDITATE on it.
5. The Bible is profitable for all vocations and doctrines, no matter your background. It corrects, instructs, motivates, inspires, reproofs, prospers and equips those who believe it. Please BELIEVE it always
6. I cherish God’s Word because it is the Bread of Life (imagine life without Food. Hmmm). God’s Word is sweeter than Honey and gives wisdom to the simple. It daily gives me power to live for God and strengths me to serve His purpose in His Kingdom. Please OBEY it.
7. I have personally discovered that it is risky, dangerous or even deadly for a believer in Christ to avoid or ignore the Bible in his or her life. The Bible should rather be the manual that guide our lifestyle and guard our life-time. I think it is time for us to GO BACK to the Bible. It is safer and better there. Don’t you think so?
8. I also discovered that World events make more sense to Bible reading and Bible believing Christian, Disciples. When we know the Bible as we should, there will be no more surprises in News Headlines. Our curiousity will be a step ahead of global affiars. The more we know the Bible the more its prophecies and promises are being fulfilled daily before our watchful eyes. Or what do you think?
9. I love God’s Word not only because it is my code of conduct but much more because it is God’s BREATH given to humankind. There is nothing like it on earth.
